fragment/ fragmento

you can stare and stare down the long road she’s walking away on
until she is a flame on the horizon
before you close your eyes

it’s the afterimage that haunts you
the flashbacks
and the way she left the door open
and the candle keeps burning
in spite of the wind
————
Puedes mirar y mirar fijamente al camino largo en que ella se aleja,
hasta que ella este una llama en el horizonte
antes de que cierres los ojos

es la imagen residual que te persigue
las escenas retrospectivas
y la manera en que ella dejó abierta la puerta
y la vela sigue quemando
a pesar del viento
